Scenografi för samkväm

på svenska
Installation, ca 4m2 woodenbord, wall to wall carpet, electrical outlet and a lamp.

Created in one of the public elevators in Kulturhuset in Stockholm, 2003.

Since we weren't allowed to use screws or nails in the elevator's walls or floor we used velcro to fix the woodenbords and tape to adhere the carpet to the floor. The interior was exactly as the titel hints, fake, but had the intention to look real. The materials I have used is the same ones you can find in a Swedish gillestuga (a kind of hunting-lodge-stylish room common in Sweden during the the seventies). When the installation was ready, it got several new meanings because the elevator is a transporter. With my elevator you could not only move from floor to floor, but into a different time and place. The size of the room was big enough to resemble the “gillestuga”, but not big enough to feel really comfortable. I got different kinds of opinions from the visitors, some felt claustrophobic but the main part just felt cosy.

Barbieskor

Object, 10x18x22.5 cm ureol.

Exhibited at the sculpturepark at Linköping University, 2003.

The model for these shoes are a pair of small barbie high heel shoes that I have scanned in a 3D scanner. With the information I got from the scanning I could let a machine make me a form of the same shoes but in a bigger size. The form I got I used to cast a new white pair of shoes in plastic, in the size of human high heel shoes. At the exhibition the shoes was placed in the grass, they looked like they have been thrown there, and laid abandoned next to some bushes. Maybe as a reminder of every womans fear when she walks alone in the park at night.

Podium

Object, 120x35 cm, rotates slowly mdf, wall to wall carpet, a brasslist and an engine.

Exhibited at Galleri Mejan , Stockholm, 2002

In the semester of 2002 I participated in a project that was called “a scene”. I thought a lot back and forth about a scenes different meanings and then I decided to make a podium. Usually a podium itself does not stand in the center of attention, usually the only reason it is built is to show something else. My podium was different beacouse the only thing it showed was itself. There was no music to the peice, because that would put to much to a certain context. Like the podium looks right now, you can imagine it at a tivoli, in a porn club or at a trashy boat ferry, its all up to you.

Jag hjärtar konst

Installation, ca 40m2 screenprinted wallpaper.

Created in Kulturhuset in Stockholm, 2001

The inspiration for this wallpaper is the logo “I love NY”. I kept the same look but changed the meaning of the words to “JAG hjärtar KONST (I love art)”. I tought that the installation would be totally hysteric with all these statements. Instead the hole area became really cosy, and the wallpaper made a room were there was none before.

Inge och Åke

Object, 150x240 cm screenprinted wallpaper, mdf, studwall, insulation, light switch.

Exhibited at Kulturhuset 2000 and at Liljevalchs vårsalong 2003 in Stockholm.

I found Inge and Åke in a little book at the library. The book explains how you preserve hunting trophys the in the best way, but at my wallpaper a whole different story takes place. In my imagination Inge and Åke are the best of friends and I am curious of what they are doing when they spend time together. The things that came up was different kind of male role, where they for fun and for real, measure their strength against eachother. They are playing cups and robbers, hunters, sailors, mafia and private detectives. At first I drew Inge and Åke playing these games, and then I printed the drawings at wallpaper, that I fixed on a studwall. I wanted the wall to look like it was sawed out from a real wall from the inside of an apartment. In the finished piece you cud se on the front; wallpaper, a light swith and lists and in the bakside stud and insulations.
